Mother's Day, Final Exams, Summer Starts.

MOTHER'S DAY-
I enjoyed my Mother's Day thoroughly.
I awoke to flowers and fresh bagels (the best tradition we have, in my opinion).

I got JEWELRY.

We went to the Alameda Spring Festival, where we loaded up on candy rope, free samples, and other fun things. There are two vintage stores on Park I've been wanting to go to for ages, but still haven't. It reminded me I ought to take a day to wander over there. Though, as my waistline is non-existant, it might just be cruel to dig through racks of vintage dresses right now..Hm.

I got to pick lunch so we went to our second favorite sushi place in Alameda (our favorite is never open Sundays, so annoying). I ate an alarming amount of sushi. I can still eat it, the fish just has to be baked or smoked or whatever first. Everyone looked the other way while I ate one TEENY, TINY hand roll with raw tuna in it. I'm sure the baby will be just fine.

After the sushi place, we walked along the beach and looked for seashells. Shamus' collection is growing pretty steadily and we all added a few more. For some reason, I had to keep begging Chance to leave the poor living ones on the beach where they belong. He's a funny one.

Finished the day off with Batman movies, leftover sushi, and cuddling. I have no idea how we're all going to fit when there's one more. Or a dog. Though the dog thing might take longer than I thought.. That's a whine fest for another day.

FINAL EXAMS-
I had four. The first one was up and down. My sporadic studying paid off- Got a 99 on the written. During our hair coloring practical, I accidentally shot the top off a shaving cream can. It hit the girl three seats down on the top of the head. She was fine, but it was a silent exam, and I kept getting mental flashes of it happening in slow motion, giving me the violent "church giggles" for most of that portion. Not me at my most professional. Also, the instructions for the hair cut section were completely confusing and I did what was definitely my worst hair cut of the entire semester. Maybe the whole year and a half I've been in school. Even after looking at everyone else's final products, I still have no idea what it was supposed to look like. I'm hoping everyone else will have done so badly that I'll fall in the middle somewhere.. I do love a curve!

During Monday's final (she makes me so nervous) I waited for the curling iron to heat up for a few minutes then made two or three frustrated attempts to make the first curl before realizing that, yes, it was  plugged in but I hadn't actually turned it ON. I finished in the time limit (by mere seconds), sustained a nasty burn on my thumb, and walked out of there with a good grade. Phew.

The last two were written and I've done consistently well in his class, so I wasn't very worried about them. I chose to spend my time puttering around the Goodwill for onesies and gluing rhinestones onto things (you know, what's REALLY important :-P). Got a C on one of them (first one of the semester) though, thanks to an optional extra credit test, it turned into a B. Didn't get the other one back but I imagine it's in the similar B range. It was a satisfactory way to end my last set of Cosme finals, which I'm exempt from taking next semester. Wooooo.

Freedom, even only for a month, feels pretty good. Prettyy.. Prettyyy.. Pretty good.
